Underground: Engineering Beneath the Surface

ome of our most demanding work disappears from view the moment it is finished. Deep below streets, rivers and dykes, it quietly keeps cities moving and energy flowing.

We design launch and reception shafts for tunnel boring machines, the starting and finishing points of tomorrow’s tunnels. We engineer deep dyke crossings that carry pipelines and cables safely beneath flood defences without compromising their protection. For metro stations, we develop cut-and-cover structures that fit into dense urban environments with minimal disruption.

Existing buildings are in good hands with us, too. When loads change or the ground shifts, our underpinning solutions give existing structures a secure new footing. And where the bearing layer lies deep, our pile foundations reach down as far as 45 metres into the ground.

Complex, confined and below the water table: this is where we excel.

Deep thinking for deep construction.
